Introducing the Founding Members of CEJ’s Board of Directors

The Center for Emerging Journalism is pleased to announce the appointment of its founding Board of Directors: Helene Stapinski, Tiffany Noel, and Nanette Tarbouni. William Liang, President and CEO of the Center, will serve as Chairman of the Board.
Each brings a deep commitment to public-interest media and decades of experience spanning journalism, education, and nonprofit leadership. Their guidance will be central to CEJ’s development as we expand our mission: to support student and early-career journalists through mentorship, publishing opportunities, and education-forward programming.
Helene Stapinski is an author, writer for the New York Times, and Professor at New York University. Tiffany Noel is the Director of Doctoral Programs and a Clinical Associate Professor at SUNY Buffalo. Nanette Tarbouni is the former head of admissions at Washington University in St. Louis.
The board will provide strategic oversight as CEJ formalizes its nonprofit operations and expands its education-focused initiatives.
